Is the Holy Bible any good?

Well I read this renowned, praised and undisputed book of books, and don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic story, but a bit too outrageous to be a biography/historical-fiction/non-fiction novel. I thought Harry Potter was more practical, but that’s just me. The character Jesus did more magic tricks than David Blaine or Dumbeldore.

What are some good science fiction or fantasy books?

I like books that feature strange things happening to normal people (Not books based solely on fantsasy lands or different species.) I enjoy books where normal (or at least they think they are normal) people go on journeys or go through odd science fiction happenings. Any suggestions?

What is a good Historical Fiction book for my World Studies class in high school?

It can be Fiction or Nonfiction, as long as the setting is a real place and the time is in the past. The book has to be at least 300 pages long. If it’s a lot more pages than that, im fine. I’m a total bookworm.

Can anyone help me!?!?!!?

I need to buy a birthday gift tomorrow for this guy I’ve started dating! He has a very intellectual mind, deep thinker and loves analysing things to wondered can anyone recommend me a FANTASTIC perhaps Psychology book or something quirky that is great reading. Not fiction or fantasy as I know he doesnt like that….more a compelling factual book. Thank you xx

What should I read?

I used to read all of the time, but ever since college I have been slacking! I have some free time now and would like to find some good books. It needs to be something I can get from the library. Fiction or non-fiction is fine. What I don’t like: Crime or mystery novels Science fiction “Romance novels” What I do like: Dry humor Good dialogue Engaging characters Some of my favorites (and yes, they’re of a wide variety): Wedding Season by Darcy Cosper *witty dialogue and personal reflections* America: The Book by Jon Stewart *fantastic dry humor* Fahrenheit 451 (yes, I know, kind of science fiction-y) The Great Gatsby If you could provide the summary of the book(s) or why you think I would enjoy them, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Tayto: “The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen” I read this one on vacation last year Keep the suggestions coming, everyone! Thank you!

What advice would you give to someone wanting to write a fiction book?

I’ve been having an idea for years, and I think I want to make it into a fiction story. I’m not a professional writer or anything. While I enjoy writing, I often don’t do it outside of college work. I would love advice.

Any movies where… bad/abused/homeless boy falls in love with a good/rich girl?

Not like the Titanic, although it was totally epic Maybe something like where a homeless boy or abused boy or a boy with issues- basically a boy who has reason to feel inferior to the girl. The girl should be a good girl, or she could be a total first class bi-otch but meeting the boy changes her. Titanic is a good example, but not quite, because Jack didn’t really have any issues(he wasn’t abused or hurt and although he was homeless, it was fine with him) you know what I mean? I turned to fanfiction, and I found Loner by Nilla(fan fiction.net) which was a fantastic example(check it out even if youd on’t like twilight! I don’t and I love this fic!) Long story short, the boy: -abused -being abused -closed up -guarded -homeless -bad home life -issues(mental, crazy episodes, but NOT abusive intentionally) -bad boy -rebel -dark past And basically the girl’s like a light in his darkness. Any movies, books or fanfiction would be AMAZING! go crazy! OH! another fan fiction would be A Dozen White Roses, or Whenever You Call (both on fanfiction. net) Alright, thanks so much! NOT twilight! Actually, no smartass, it doesn’t, but my boyfriend’s been abused and I need to get these stories and the movies for personal reasons. Thanks anyway. thanks but I saw all those movies! lol! they were amaaaaaaaaazing though. Ah, back when disney was disney….

Any great, instructional, Wiccan sites out there on the net?

I’m a believer in just finding great sites for information. No need to buy expensive books if you can find reliable resources on-line. Are you an already established follower of Wicca? Do you have a reliable website for beginners? First of all…there is no hell. Second of all…wicca is not about gaining super powers.

What are some great sites to read flash fiction and drabbles?

Basically, short stories that are around 100-500 words. Better if it contains flash fiction and drabbles exclusively, but can contain short stories/books too IF there’s a filter that let me search for flash fiction and drabbles. If you have any specific flash fiction/drabbles to recommend, then please do Thank you! I prefer flash fiction/drabbles that are angsty/provocative (but I guess all flash fiction/drabbles are).
