Lately, with the issues in the USA economy today, my family does not have much spare money. I, being a teenager of course, wants stuff. I am to young to get a job and I get a $2 allowance… So, the only way I found that I’d be able to earn a reasonable amount of money was by publishing a book. This is because, I’m a good writer, (I write fan fiction all the time so I’ve really improved and I already have loyal readers.) if a book gets popular you can make a good living off of it, (especially if its more of an income I get now from allowance.) and most of all I enjoy writing. My only issue was… I came up with a few ideas, but they all can’t reach past the first chapter… It’s like I can’t put my full heart into them. There is one storyline though, that I haven’t written in word form… I’m sure it would make a fantastic book but I’ve got a few problems; 1. I’ve been planning on making it a manga when I grow up for the past few years. I guess I could always go back and make it into a manga in the future, but should I go ahead and write a regular novel for it first? 2. I made the basics of this all up when I was in 4th grade… meaning the four main characters of the story are based off of me and three friends along with the fact that they share our names. I fact, this wasn’t even really a story at first; it was our “imagination” life if you get my meaning. First I thought; I could just change the names then. Then I come with the fact that I’ve became attached to the characters having those certian names, even though they don’t really resemble their original forms my friends (and mainly I since I was the most into this whole thing.) and I made. Most people would have no clue that they were based off of real people… Until they read that the main character’s name is Megan, and then they’d flip back to the cover and figure out that she was based off of myself. Would people be a-okay about that still? I’ve thought of spelling the names all different, like Meghan or one of the freakish ways to spell the name like the ‘bratz’ doll had, but I still prefer the original spellings… So yes, this thing I’ve put a lot off effort in making/drawing the characters and their stories these past 5 years or so. I’m almost afraid if I don’t write it now I never will once I’m caught up in life… Here’s the old story background I wrote for it a while back: This all began centuries ago, in a world full of inhabitance. The kingdoms often had rulers appear, and seek to take over other nations. For many years, the strongest of the nations, known as the Slayer Nations, would cause uproars between kingdoms, till the other nations known as the Peace nations joined together to defeat them. The wars all ended with the Peace nations defeating the Tyrants. To keep the elements of the kingdoms under control, the leading military leaders sealed them into amulets to use them for their own ideas. Whoever wore the amulets held the powers of the nation; though it seemed the amulets had minds of their own after all… The amulets chose their wielders; no matter where they were from or who they were they had no choise but to become it’s amulet keeper. This source of power changed it’s host into an Elemental warrior who contained it’s nation’s element(s) and became the prime protector of it’s kingdom. The amulets where permanent fixtures however; not one person who had ever worn one had ever been able to remove the thing from their neck from the time they recived it until the time of their death. For many generations as these amulets were passed down to younger generations, being expected to carry out their duties as amulet keepers… But some rebeled. Before the organization of the keepers realized, an enemy was made right under their noses… (P.S.) You DO NOT have to live in JAPAN to write a MANGA. I know of a man named Mark Crilley in the USA who has a sucessful manga called ‘miki falls’. In fact, though it hasn’t really been stated, “Avatar” is technically an anime because of the style of art it is in even though it was made in the USA. Manga has been made in many different nations now since the mangakas went over seas years ago, and is NOT limited by having to live in JAPAN, Umbravulpes. Even though ‘manga’ is the Japanese word for ‘comic’, it is known now as the term for the look of it since it is a LOT different from other comics like Spiderman. I don’t want to sound snotty either, but you don’t sound like you know much about manga at all if you don’t know that much; you shouldn’t be bashing my dreams of it. Manga is a STYLE OF ART that originated from Japan. It’s not some strict style that only Japanese people can write.
